Brian couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as he logged into another of his favourite dating websites. Technically, he was still a married man but his divorce from Mira was taking so long to be resolved. He was trying to hold off on dating, in general, until the divorce was final but he was really missing companionship.

"Be honest with yourself man," Brian thought. "You miss having sex - THAT is what you miss." It was true. He and Mira had separated over a year ago and he hadn't dated much in that time. He'd had drinks with a few blind dates and had asked a woman from the office out for coffee but that was about it. He was starting to feel starved for an intimate connection.

His need for contact had taken Brian into the world of dating websites. He had created profiles on a few and had started to meet some really great women. What he had never done, though, was meet one of them in person. Sure he had done plenty of flirting online and had engaged in some very sexual phone conversations with a couple of them but it had never gone further than that.

On the second of the dating websites he'd logged into, Brian discovered a message from one of the women he'd chatted with on the phone a few times. Just seeing her name made his skin feel flushed. She was a very sexy woman, indeed, and Brian had felt awful when their contact had ended for no particular reason that he could determine.

In reading her message, Brian discovered that she had gone out of town on extended business and she hadn't had the time to log in to the site and let him know. He accepted her explanation without question because people that you know casually on dating websites don't usually factor into the top of the priority list. As he read further, she recalled the last phone call they'd shared. She described, in passionate detail, how excited she'd been during that call, how she found herself caressing her own body and wishing it was Brian that was with her. Brian shifted in his chair as he remembered the incredibly personal things they had said.

At the bottom of the note, she suggested a brief encounter. Her exact words, as he read them over and over, were "I need to see you... in person, Brian... I need to touch you. I need to know if the connection I feel to you is real." Brian was stunned. He'd never stopped thinking about her but he never imagined this would even be a possibility. He knew that he wanted her desperately and, throwing reserve to the wind, he clicked on the reply button. He wasn't going to let her slip away again.
