I was working in a cafe for the last 3 years and was waiting to get promoted. Since I was very good at my work, I was sure that very soon I will be promoted to the next level and will also get monetary appraisals. I thought of getting married once I see myself in a formidable position so that I would be in a better position to take care of my family. During that time, I also bought a laptop which I always kept at home and never shown anyone in my office. I heard about Internet dating from many of my friends and also from people coming regularly in my cafe. They tell me how they found their soul mate through such internet dating web sites. I also wanted to try that and hence bought a laptop and took an internet connection.

It was summer and colleges were on vacation so there came many young college going guys and girls to work as part time in our cafe. They generally do this to get some additional income while out of college so that once the college re-opens, they have enough money to spend on their education. There came a girl who was very beautiful and I found in her an idol of love and purity. Whenever I used to see her working in the cafe, I felt like I should go and approach her and kneel down on my knees and propose her. Since I never proposed any girl earlier, this was very difficult for me to do so.

Once at home, I was browsing some internet dating sites and I found a photo which was similar to the girl working in my cafe. I tried to find out the name of the profile and was surprised to know it was the same girl. I left a message for her wherein I expressed my interest on her and was awaiting for her reply. I did not know if she knows me personally as we work in the same place but I always saw her absorbed in her work and she never tried to mingle with anyone, so felt that she may not know me. Soon then I received a message fromher where she wanted to meet me on Sunday so that she can know me better.

It was Saturday evening and I was in my cafe making plans about my first date and what all I need to do to make it a memorable one for both of us. I made up some plans and then went home. On Sunday morning, I call her up just to confirm if we're meeting today. She said yes and we fixed a time and a place. I was ready by that time and reached the place on time. I saw her there waiting for me with something in her hand wrapped in a gift paper. As I was moving towards her, my heart stated beating faster and faster. With a smile I said hello to her and she was just looking at me. Then she broke her silence and asked if I'm the same guy working in the cafe and I replied in affirmative. She said that she found me good from the beginning of the day as she was just observing everyone and found me to be very dedicated to my work which she likedthe most. I was thinking that world is really a very small place and internet dating has made it much smaller. Since then, we're together. I was promoted as a supervisor and she went back to college after vacation. We're still in contact with each other and as everyday passes by, we've strengthened our relationship.
