Samlooked around him. Men were sleeping. There was a strongaromaof sweat and smoke. dating a gangster's daughter had proved detrimental for him. Sally wasn't meant for him. Yet they got along well and couldn't think of dating anyone else. She spent on him: his clothesand meals. Sam felt guilty but Sally wouldn't bother. They were happy dating each other and as a couple.

And then ....

Jealous friends couldn't keep quite. Sally's father threatened and warned him of dire consequences if he continued dating her. But both had gone too far andneither had any intentions of leaving the other till........

That day Sam had been too tired. He lay thinking about Sally. She was so sweet and compassionate. "Sam," she said, "why can't you change your job? This job doesn't pay you at all. For all your hard work you get just a pittance. Its not enough, dear, for both of us to survive. "

"But Sally, I got this job when my Father had a stroke and died suddenly. I couldn't cheat on Peter after what he has done for me. And I am due for a raise....."

"But, Sam, the raise you are talking about will never be enough for you to raise a family. Think 'bout it, Sam."

He saw the time. Time for a quick shower and a bite!

He turned and froze. A man stood in the doorway with a gun.

"Your last chance . Get outta this place and out of her life! I have orders to kill you and her."

Sam stared in disbelief. He was going to kill Sally? "Listen...."

"Out before I pump all of them bullets into you !"

He ran..for his life and Sally's. Empty handed and an empty life. What was he without her? Where would he go?

So here he was. In a cargo ship with heavily drunk men around. He would start a new life. But without Sally.

A year later Sam was working with a publishing house and had to visit a womenpenitentiaryto interview some inmates. After getting through the security he was face to face with half a dozen hard core women who were accused of cold blooded murder. And then a shriek,"Sam!"

There she was. Sally - his life was one of the six women sentenced for life!"Sam, you alive?"

"Sally! You........?"

And suddenly she was laughing. A sad, hysterical laugh.

"He told me he got you killed . I killed him."

"Sally..!"

"My father. I killed him."
